Christian Picard joined Smithers as a junior Biologist in 2013. In his current role as Senior Research Biologist, Christian acts as a technical leader in the Terrestrial Ecotoxicology group. He has extensive experience in sediment, non-target terrestrial plant and insect testing including work with pollinators. Prior to joining Smithers, Christian worked as a Research Associate for the world-renowned Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Christian holds a Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from the University of Rhode Island. He has been a long-standing member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) and participates in a number of interest groups within the organization.
