Yuemin Wang Kovaleff

Yuemin Wang Kovaleff joined Smithers as Laboratory Manager for the cannabis testing line in 2021. In this role, he is responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing innovative procedures and methods consistent with the ISO/IEC 17025 standards for accredited labs. This includes creating strategies to position the Smithers facility as Massachusetts’ highest value-added and complete service provider for cannabis testing needs along with top-notch customer service. The lab relies on state-of-the-art instrumentation (HPLC/UPLC, HS-GC/MS, etc.) for potency, microbiological, and contaminant testing.

Qualifications and Accreditations

In addition to his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Central Florida (UCF; Orlando FL), he brings two years of lab manager experience from an independent cannabis and CBD testing laboratory in Las Vegas, Nevada. There he oversaw a team of junior researchers and technicians who specialized in microbial, organic, and inorganic analysis of THC/CBD products. Yuemin is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS). He is a passionate food lover and avid traveler who enjoys learning about and experiencing culturally rich and diverse places around the world.
