Smithers Announces Webinar On Validation Testing For Wiring Harnesses And Electrical Connectors

Published: 7/12/2022

(Akron, Ohio) – July 12, 2022 - Smithers, a leading provider of testing, consulting, information, and compliance services, announces that Christine Bythewood, Business Development Manager for Product Testing, is presenting a webinar titled “Wiring Harness and Electrical Connector Validation Testing.” The webinar is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. EST.

During the webinar, Bythewood will discuss the many industries adopting the use of intelligent sensors and power sources and current trends in the market. She will share the unique challenges of designing these sensitive components to withstand rigorous service environments, with some focus on electric vehicle applications. Bythewood will also cover the specific test methods, including material and full assembly tests, that may be used to assess whether these products can perform as designed when exposed to environmental variables.

There will be a brief Q&A with Bythewood after the main presentation.

“At Smithers, our experts are seeing a spike in the number of wiring harnesses and electrical connectors on a given product, from electric vehicles to medical devices. Depending on the application, these components may come up against heat, vibration, and elements such as snow and rain,” said Jim Popio, Vice President, Smithers Materials Science and Engineering Division. “Christine can help manufacturers explore their options for measuring how their components hold up against these different variables so they can deliver better products to market. Anyone who attends this webinar will benefit from her deep understanding of materials testing and validation methods.”

Those interested in attending the webinar can register here. A recording of the webinar will be available for download at a later date.
