Webinar: Brake Line Validation - Test Methods and Future Considerations

Webinar: Thursday, May 18th, 2023 at 11:00 AM EST

As vehicle types and configurations have evolved over the years, so have braking systems. Various actuation methods and applications present different validation requirements. This webinar will provide an overview of the various types of brake lines, which standard test methods are generally required, and how they are applied to the testing process. A discussion of electronic and regenerative braking system design and future testing considerations will also be included.
The 45-60 minute webinar will include details on:
  •  FMVSS 106 Requirements
  • Air Brake Hose & Tube Testing
  • Hydraulic Brake Hose Testing
  • Vacuum Brake Hose Testing
  • Electronic / Regenerative Brake Systems
  • Common failure modes

About our Speaker

Austin joined Smithers in 2022 as a Test Engineer focused on automotive product testing, primarily cooling, A/C, brake, fuel, and transmission fluid assemblies. His expertise is used for test design, setup, and evaluation of testing results.
Prior to joining Smithers, Austin completed multiple engineering co-op rotations at both Smithers and Little Tikes. These involved everything from troubleshooting automation processes for improved efficiency to designing new parts and testing the assembly of those parts for quality and meeting performance standards.
Austin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron.
