Smithers attends Goodyear STEM Career Day Event

Smithers was honored to attend this year's Goodyear STEM Career Day on February 17th at The University of Akron. This annual event serves as a valuable platform for local students to engage with professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Lori Knous and Amanda Cool of Smithers Akron Labs had the privilege of sharing insights and knowledge with the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.

STEM Career Day was established with the primary goal of providing students in grades 6 through 12 with an invaluable opportunity to explore the vast array of career possibilities and serves as a platform to enlighten and inspire young minds, encouraging them to consider diverse educational and professional pathways that align with their interests and aptitudes.

Through engaging activities, informative sessions, and direct interactions with professionals from esteemed organizations like Smithers and other regional companies, students are able to gain valuable insights into the real-world applications of STEM disciplines.

The Goodyear STEM Event strives to foster dialogue and networking opportunities among students and industry experts. Its objective is to bridge the divide between theoretical learning in the classroom and its practical application, providing insight into the myriad opportunities available to those embarking on careers in STEM fields.

Through meaningful exchanges and hands-on experiences, students are encouraged to explore their interests, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the pathways available to them in the dynamic and ever-evolving world of science and technology.
