Mike is responsible for dynamic mechanical analysis testing at the material testing lab in Akron, Ohio. He joined Smithers in 2015 and spent four years on the product testing team before transitioning to his current role.
As part of the product testing team, Mike focused on pressure, vibration, and temperature (PVT) testing on hoses and other products, as well as a variety of techniques used to evaluate components for performance and durability. Before working at Smithers, he was a research assistant at Akron General Medical Center, focusing on mechanical testing in the biomedical field.

Mike’s expertise covers product types such as hoses, hydraulic systems, bushings, engine mounts, and a wide array of automotive components. He works closely with engineering development teams to design and execute testing programs with the goal of accelerating development and increasing speed to market. Qualifications and Professional Accreditation
Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Bbiomedical engineering from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. He is working toward a Master's of Science in mechanical engineering. He was a podium presenter at the Midwest American Society of Biomedical Engineers Regional Conference in 2015, and his work has been published in the Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine.
