from Principal Scientist to Laboratory Manager at its analytical services
laboratory in Akron, Ohio.
In her new role, Schweda is responsible for day-to-day operations of the laboratory, including management of client projects and a team of chemists. Schweda first joined Smithers in 2017 as a Principal Scientist. She was one of the first staff members of the analytical services laboratory in Akron, which opened its doors in 2017

Schweda has over a decade of experience in chemistry and research management. Prior to joining Smithers, she worked at Charles River Laboratories, Covance Laboratories, and NeoStrata. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemistry from Hillsdale College.
The Akron-based analytical services laboratory is part of a global network of Smithers medical device testing
facilities and experts. The lab shares a footprint with a physical and functional testing laboratory that opened earlier this year
