2023 SETAC Europe Presentations
Smithers scientists presented at the SETAC Europe Annual Meeting in Dublin, 30 April - 4 May.
Continuing the development of a stage-matched AMA historical control database (HCD) from previous analyses at SETAC Europe and North America 2022, we included data from an additional laboratory (ibacon) to further compare inter-laboratory variation. A total of 79 studies comprised the HCD (Fort: 16, ibacon: 24, Smithers: 39). A subsequent comparison illustrated the inter-lab HCD vs. stage-matched exposure data from a substance (dibutyl phthalate, DBP) that showed agonistic effects on the thyroid axis in an AMA conducted at Fort Environmental Laboratories (Kamel et al. 2022; https://doi.org/10.1016/j.yrtph.2022.105241).
Joseph Marini, Senior Research Biologist, presented this research at the SETAC Europe 33rd Annual Meeting, 30 April – 4 May 2023, in Dublin, Ireland.
